Or Nerd Night as it might also be known. Went over to Philippe’s last night, joined by Nico and Jon for an evening of Gran Turismo 4 on the Playstation… the worlds greatest car racing simulator. After a great dinner prepared by Ana we settled down to business. After several futile attempts to get the two playstations connected for multiplayer action we settled for two player split screen on both systems. We then synchronised cars and tracks for pseudo 4 player fun. I must admit I’d forgotten how good this game is. The realistic differences between all the cars and…

Espe and I had the pleasure of visiting Mats and Tasja in Berlin. They have a wonderful flat just North of the old GDR center. We were put up and fed for the full four days, so a huge thanks for that. Friday night, due to our late arrival we sat down for Dinner prepared by Tasja. After a great feed, loads of catching up and a few too many glasses of wine we retired to bed. Come Saturday, the weather was not too accommodating with minus temperatures, driving wind and constant snow. We headed down to Potsdamer Platz to…

Just been sent this link by Nina… “For all us jet setters” www.worldsbestbars.com Apart from the fantastic 60th floor bar in Bangkok that will have to be visited (hopefully next Jan/Feb), I’ve been sent the link in perfect time in order to prepare for the coming weekend which I will spend in Berlin… As they say in EasyJets latest tacky slogan, “Come on lets fly!”

Its Friday afternoon, which can mean only one thing… surfing the web. Just spotted the Mr Scruff website in my bookmarks. It’s a site I’ve never had a good look around before but having done so I have to say its absolutely fantastic in all its pie eating, tea drinking, funktastic goodness. The flash animations are based entirely on Mr. Scruff’s unique sketching style, yet at the same time everything you might or might not want to know about the man himself is there. Check it out: www.mrscruff.com Even if you don’t like his music (a crime in itself), his…

On this, my third ‘business’ trip to Poland I decided to make the journey from Krakow to the peaceful mountain resort of Zakopane. Just finding my own way to the bus station and getting to Zakopane off my own back was so exhilarating. Wandering around the village looking for my hotel brought back great memories of traveling and a huge smile to my face. I spent Sunday on the slopes, gradually improving my limited abilities on a snow board. The was my first experience of really soft deep snow, much better for falling over, but a different technique required. I…

Off to Cambridge for the eagerly awaited First Meeting of the People of the Rickshaw Run. We arrived in England to be greeted by a 35 minute queue to get through customs. Things got worse when our luggage turned up damaged… We then had to wait 25 minutes for someone to turn up at the baggage claims desk. We got to the hire car center an hour late to find the staff running around in a panic as they had run out of cars… This wasn’t as bad as it sounded as I was given an upgrade from a Mongol…
