Tell me more about those nice title pics!
One of my main interest is photography. Bar a few exceptions, all of the photos on this site are my own work, including the rather nice title images that appear at the top of each page. A few people have asked me about these, so I created this page to explain.
All of the pics used for the title image were panoramics created from several smaller pics using Canon's Photo Stitch. The software takes images and attempts to stitch them together to create a smooth panoramic photo. The results vary but generally are quite good. Of course if you look closely, you can see some the stitch lines, and in some case, some rather strange phenomonen.
Peñelara, Spain
Taken while trekking in the Sierra north of Madrid. Note, you can just make out the Valdesqui Ski resort in the left of the picture.
Torres Kio
This image show Madrid's distinctive leaning towers shot just after sunset from Jon's 15th floor flat.
Alcala 412
The impressive view from the wonderful 12th floor flat that I shared with Niki for 8 months or so. Fond memories.
Sierra de Guadarrama
Madrid is overshadowed by amung others, the Sierra de Guaderama. A collection of mountain ranges that stretches for over 200 kilometers passing within 70km of the city. Great for trekking and winter sports.
Mazarron, Spain
A somewhat familier sight. The most visited Spanish diving area for several of us in the office and home, until recently, to my good friend, Chris.
Riaño, Spain
The village Riaño is situated just south of the magnificent Picos de Europa. The resevoir seen was created in the 1960s taking 7 vilages with it.
Manzanares, Spain
El Yelmo and the Sierra de Guadarrama viewed from Manzanares el Real.
Formula 1 in Cataluña
The seating at the first corner provided spectacular views of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix. Ensuring that the panoramic was full of cars I had to ensure that a car was center frame for each of the individual shots.
