Andy's Maestro Turbo

MG Maestro Turbo - E785 EPJ

 History

This car started life as a 1.3 Austin Maestro. The car looked pretty weak at first (see below) but after a lot of hard work the results are quite impressive. Modifications started with the MG bodykit and alloys, followed by a full MG interior. The 1.3 engine was replaced engine a 1.6 which later had twin Weber 40's fitted. This sounded the business as anyone who has every driven a car with twin carbs would know.

The car was lowered and the Standard alloys replaced with MGF 16" 6 spokes. Maestro turbo side skirts were painted along with the lower gray section of the car and the body kit.

As is always the case, I wanted more power so out came the 1600 and in went a 2.0 turbo which was stripped from an MOT failure Montego I bought.

The car is very quick with handeling to match, and being a Maestro suprises a lot of people!
